Robert Jordan - The Acclaimed American Author

Robert Jordan was an immensely popular American fantasy author, best known for his Wheel of Time series. He was born James Oliver Rigney, Jr. on October 17th, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina to a military family. During his childhood, his family would often move from one place to another, as his father was a career army officer. He was a voracious reader from a young age, and his parents encouraged his passion for books. After graduating from The Citadel in Charleston with a degree in physics, he served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner for the United States Army. After his tour of duty, he became an English professor and began writing.
