Jordan Knight was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on May 17, 1970 to parents Marlene and Anthony. He was the third of five children, and began singing at an early age, performing in talent shows and competitions. He was a straight-A student and even skipped a grade in elementary school. His musical influences included Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. In 1984, Jordan joined his brother Jonathan and cousins Donnie and Danny Wood to form the boy band New Kids on the Block.
